7:00pm – 11:00pm
Cleaving is a solo show by Inga Cholmogorova at Schijnheilig, where she creates a new site-specific installation especially for this occasion as well as her earlier made intervention “In Between The Green” is to be seen together with a presentation of her artistic practice.
Cleaving is a new work, whereby she transforms the space by using the characteristic of the ceiling in the space and a found carpet.
Inga works exclusively in situ, making site and context specific works, resulting as installations and performances. Working with the given space whereby subtle spatial gestures Inga makes something that is already there present in a way that it becomes experienceable for the public. Her installations are temporary in nature, made usually using materials at hand and ordinary everyday materials. The form echoes the delicate issues addressed, emphasising aesthetic centered on the acceptance of transience. Inga works with taken-for-granted aspects of specific location, making spatial interventions such as blocking and separating, framing and misplacing to extract something extraordinary within the given. She re-articulates the space to create an environment inviting the visitor to take an active part in production of meaning by altering one’s perception to discover the other aspects of apparent reality.
